I may change this privacy policy now and then. If I do, I’ll change that “Effective” date at the top of the screen and publicize the fact that it’s changed with emails and/or notifications on the site. In the rest of this policy, I may use “I” or “we” or “the site” to refer to Electricove.com

2. HOW WE COLLECT AND USE INFORMATION

When I say I may process your personal data, I’m referring to what’s called Communication Data, which includes any communication you send to me. That may be sent through the contact form on our website, through email, social media messaging, social media posting, or anything else you may send me. The reason I process this is so I can communicate with you, to keep records, and for the establishment, pursuance, or defense of legal claims. You must be aware such Personal Information can be read, collected, or used by other people who visit these public areas on the Internet. I have no control over how they might use your Personal Information.

Customer Data that can relate to any purchases of goods or services, which could include your name, title, address (billing or delivery), email address, contact details, phone number, purchase details, and card details. Why? I just process this data to provide the goods and/or services you’ve purchased and to keep records of those transactions. My lawful ground for processing that information is the performance of a contract between you and me and/or taking steps at your request to enter into such a contract.

Some examples include:

Registration: When you register on the Services, like when you sign up for a newsletter ask for information, or take part in a giveaway, you’ll be requested to provide Personal Information, which I’ll use to fulfill that request.

Surveys: Sometimes, the site may ask if you’d like to fill out a survey or an opinion poll. If that happens, the site only uses the data collected in an aggregate manner, not in individually identifiable form. I may use specific comments made on the surveys, but it would be without your data attached. It would be nameless information, in other words. I might reach out to you for more clarification on survey responses and possibly request permission to share. But I’ll never share anything personally identifiable that you shared on a survey unless you give me your consent.

User Data: this includes data about how you use the website and any online services together with any information that you post for publication on my website, or through other online services. I process this information so that I can operate the website and make sure that appropriate content is provided to you, to ensure the security of my website, to preserve back-ups or this site’s content and/or databases, and also to allow publication and administration of my website, other online services, and businesses. All this data comes from our analytics tracking system. The site processes this data to analyze your use of the website and other online services, to protect and manage my business and website, to send you relevant website advertisements and content, and to understand how effective our advertising has been. • The time and date you visited the Services
    • Which pages you visited on the Services?

Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to study how customers use our products/services, to develop them, to grow our business, and to decide our marketing strategy.

Even more specifically, the following are some examples of where this data might come from

Linking from Emails. If electricove sends you an e-mail and you click a link in that e-mail that takes you to any of our Sites, we’ll be able to identify your email address from that link you clicked and associate the email with the pages you visit on the Sites.
Visitors: if you’re just clicking around and visiting the Sites but not registering, asking for information, contacting electricove, or posting to a public area of the Services, and you didn’t come to the Sites from a link that was put in one of our email communications, then ordinarily we won’t collect any Personal Information about you except through web logs, as described below.
Web Logs: We maintain web logs that record basic information about everyone who visits the website. We use that information so that we can make a better site — so we know what people are using and aren’t using, so we can design a site people are more likely to enjoy, to improve our services, and for other managerial and analytic uses. If something like that arises, we may have to cancel the product or service offered to you, but we’ll notify you if anything like that should arise.

We’ll only use your personal information for the purpose it was collected for or a reasonably compatible purpose if necessary. Those featured may collect your IP address and the page you’re visiting on electricove. The features may also set a cookie so that the feature can function properly. Your interactions with those buttons are governed by the privacy policy of the company that provides it.

Business Transfers. This isn’t likely to happen much, but if we were to transfer all or a substantial amount of our assets to another company, one of the assets we would probably include in such a transfer is the database of Personal Information.

Disclosures for Legal Reasons: When required to do so by law, regulation, or securities exchange requirements, we will disclose Personal Information. For example, if we’re ordered to do so by a court order or a subpoena or if it’s in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or if we believe that such a disclosure would be appropriate in order to protect our legal rights or to safeguard someone’s property or safety.

DATA RETENTION

We’ll only hold on to your personal data for as long as it’s necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, which includes for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

When we’re deciding how long to keep the data, we consider its amount, nature and sensitivity, potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which it’s processed, and if these can be achieved by other means and legal requirements.

For tax purposes, the law does require us to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for six years after they stop being customers.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION BY THIRD PARTIES

We might use a third-party advertising company to serve ads when you’re browsing electricove. If we do that, there’s a chance this company might use information — but that doesn’t include your name, address, email address, or phone number — about your visit to the Services so that they can provide relevant and appropriate ads about goods and services you might be interested in. When they’re serving ads to the Services, the advertiser might place or recognize a unique “cookie” on your browser.

electricove might offer you the opportunity to get in touch with other companies, like advertisers or marketing affiliates or content providers, to obtain information or to buy products or services. If you do give out that information, its use and security is governed by those companies’ policies and not by this privacy policy you’re reading now. Again, it’s always worth reading the privacy policies of companies that you interact with online.

We don’t make any representations or warranties about any of the other companies you might interact with through links or advertisements on electricove, or their privacy or security policies. Once you’ve clicked through to an unaffiliated website, this privacy policy doesn’t apply anymore.
